Job description
Overview

WHO WE ARE

When it comes to health, we’re always looking for ways to push for better. It’s why we were founded in the first place. In 1957, our founder, pharmacist William Wilkinson, witnessed a mother sacrifice her health by forgoing her own medicine to pay for her sick daughter’s prescription. He knew there had to be a better way. So, he introduced North America’s first prepaid drug plan, and GreenShield was born as a not-for-profit with a mission to support better health for all Canadians.

We aren’t just a health and benefits company. We’re the only not-for-profit social enterprise that brings worlds of coverage and care together, all in one place. We’re noble challengers, purposefully building a better way and we need the best people to help us create a more holistic approach that takes care of the mind and body. Our mission is to create better health for all Canadians, and we know that starts with our employees.

THE

ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

Reporting to the GreenShield Director of Product, you will be responsible for driving the strategic development of products that enhance our capabilities within the GreenShield+ integrated payer-provider platform. Some of the key responsibilities of the position are listed below :

  • Lead the development and execution of products and services that align with GreenShield’s strategic goals.
  • Drive prioritization and requirement definition while contributing to long-term product vision and strategy.
  • Facilitate stakeholder discussions, gather and evaluate requirements, and translate them into actionable product plans.
  • Partner closely with the stakeholders to ensure product alignment with operational processes and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Communicate product strategy and roadmaps clearly to non-technical audiences through presentations, documentation, and discussions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including Product, Design, Architecture, and Engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing, and Sales to support go-to-market strategies and ensure successful product launches.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to inform product decisions.
Who We’re Looking For
  • A self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity with confidence.
  • Deep understanding of digital product management, including operational readiness, support, analytics, and product operations.
  • Understanding of the organizational health, insurance and benefits administration industries.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions and build compelling business cases.
  • Systems thinker with a holistic view of the customer journey and product ecosystem.
  • Skilled in writing clear, detailed product specifications tailored to both business and technical audiences.
  • Ability to make pragmatic trade-offs to deliver high-quality features on time and with minimal bugs.
  • Experience in QA processes to ensure robust, cross-platform feature launches.
  • Capable of triaging bugs effectively and determining launch-critical issues.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of product management experience, ideally with exposure to digital insurance or healthcare products.
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and the full product development lifecycle.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working on platform products with multiple integrations.
  • Technically fluent; while not a developer, you’re comfortable working closely with engineering teams and understanding technical constraints.
