Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient‑centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province‑wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
The Supply Chain Management Shared Service (SCMSS) supports health services delivery across Manitoba by contracting, procuring and distributing supplies, equipment, and services to the service delivery organizations (SDOs) across the health sector. The SCMSS leads the category management health and population cluster for the Government of Manitoba and is responsible for establishing contracts for in‑scope items that can be used by stakeholders across public sector partners.
As part of the SCMSS Team, under the direction of the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Coordinator is involved in all aspects of procurement in accordance with Shared Health Policy and Procedures. The incumbent is responsible for a group of assigned commodities requiring a high level of expertise and product knowledge. Procurement activities include issuing purchase orders, ensuring contract compliance, sourcing and negotiating price and terms for non‑contracted goods, data maintenance, cost savings initiatives, expediting functions and return of goods. The role also involves maintaining contact and liaison with all levels of staff regarding procurement requirements and participating in work groups specific to purchasing and contracting matters.
