What is the Role?

We are seeking a Principal Analyst on a full-time, permanent basis in our Market Regulation team, with a unique blend of market analysis and data science expertise to help identify inefficiencies in the electricity market and model better market outcomes.

As part of the ERA’s role as regulator of the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) Rules, you will apply quantitative skills and market insights to assess how effectively the market is working and develop innovative solutions to improve its performance.

To be successful in this role you will need a keen eye for detail and a passion for solving complex problems. You’ll explore how the electricity market operates, uncover areas for improvement, and keep ahead of changes like new technologies and policy shifts. Your ability to turn data and insights into clear, practical advice will help shape decisions that make the market fairer and more efficient for everyone.
