The Material Planner, reporting to the Category Manager, plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient material procurement and inventory management. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Goodfood Market’s supply chain operations, optimizing stock levels while maintaining cost efficiency and quality.
Responsabilités :
- Material Planning: Develop and execute material requirement plans based on the production schedules and inventory levels. Monitor raw material availability to prevent production disruptions.
- Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production requirements while minimizing excess stock and carrying costs. Implement inventory control measures to prevent shortages or overages.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and reliable delivery of materials.
- Order Placement and Tracking: Generate, track and manage orders to ensure on-time delivery and address any issues or delays promptly.
- Collaboration with Production & Logistics Teams: Communicate any potential material shortages or issues that may impact production timelines and scheduled pick-ups.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements in material planning. Support Just-in-Time and cost savings initiatives.
- Data Analysis: Analyze inventory metrics to optimize material flow and safety stock levels. Utilize data analytics tools to assess and analyze key performance indicators related to materials planning.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to material availability and procurement.
- Quality Assurance: Work with quality control teams to address material defects and non-conformances. Address these issues with the vendors in a timely manner.
Exigences :
- Degree in business, logistics, inventory management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in materials planning, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the food industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills to anticipate and mitigate supply chain issues.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to track and manage multiple materials and schedules.
- Great team player that fosters a cooperative work environment with cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Analytical aptitude with a focus on making data-driven decisions
- Autonomous and able to act like an owner
- Bilingualism (English & French)
