Responsibilities
- Serve as a board-certified expert in the delivery of Family Medicine medical care to all ages of active duty personnel, their dependents, eligible Navy Civilian employees, and other eligible beneficiaries.
- Independently formulate full treatment plans based on sound evaluation and diagnoses consistent with current evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, coordinating with facility and community resources to provide comprehensive care.
- Perform emergency services or crisis intervention, including life-saving emergency procedures when necessary.
- Promote preventive and health maintenance care, emphasizing positive health behaviors through education and counseling.
- Participate in quality assurance, risk management, performance improvement programs, and peer review programs, recommending improvements to work methods and organizational features.
- Serve as a faculty member for the Family Medicine Residency Program, mentoring and supervising residency students, teaching didactics, and participating in teaching conferences and case discussions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
US Citizenship required
- Degree: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited U.S. or Canadian school, or an equivalent foreign degree that meets U.S. equivalency standards.
- Board Certification: Must possess and maintain board certification in Family Medicine by a nationally recognized board.
- Licensure: Current, active, full, and unrestricted physician license or registration from a U.S. state, D.C., Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory.
- Graduate Training: At least one year of supervised clinical experience following graduation (e.g., internship or first year of residency in an accredited hospital).
