About the position
As a Physician Assistant, you will practice medicine under the supervision of the CEO & Medical Director. You will work directly with her and see new patients independently, building rapport, conducting physical examinations, ordering and interpreting tests, checking lab results, updating patient records, scheduling follow-ups, developing protocols for IUI/CM and IVF, prescribing medications, and briefing the Medical Director on patient progress. You will also ensure all documentation is accurate and accessible. The role aligns with Dr. Marjorie Dixon’s commitment to excellence in reproductive health and fertility services.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Medical
- Work under supervision of Anova’s CEO & Medical Director, in compliance with medical directives
- Provide high-quality medical support to optimize caseload management
- Greet patients, establish rapport, and facilitate smooth patient flow prioritizing patient-centered care
- Conduct new patient intakes and follow-up appointments, review investigations
- Obtain medical histories, perform physical exams, and conduct in-office procedures
- Administer medications and write prescriptions as needed
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and lab results
- Document assessments and interactions in the EMR system
- Develop protocols for IUI/CM and IVF cycles in collaboration with clinic staff
- Participate in cycle monitoring rotations
- Book follow-ups and address patient inquiries
- Support patient enrollment in clinical research studies when applicable
- Communicate patient updates to Medical Director and other physicians
- Attend and chair regulatory compliance meetings (e.g., CPSO, OHPIP, IHF)
- Comply with all relevant medical regulations, safety protocols, and SOPs
Operational and Strategic Projects (under COO/CFO)
- Identify and propose operational improvements to clinic workflows
- Lead or support implementation of new clinical programs (e.g., Hysteroscopy, MonaLisa Touch, Cliovana)
- Assist in setting up and launching new satellite clinics
- Collaborate across departments and with external vendors on projects
- Support best-practice implementation across service areas
Qualifications and Requirements
- BSc or MA in Physician Assistant Studies, Health Science, or Medical Science
- Certification from CAPA/PACCC
- Member in good standing of CPSO
- At least 1 year of experience in medical or fertility-focused clinical settings
- Strong knowledge of fertility treatments and reproductive health guidelines
- Proficiency with MS Office and virtual meeting tools
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance and patient confidentiality standards
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Excellent interpersonal and administrative skills
- Willingness to travel to satellite clinics as needed
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work outside regular hours, including weekends and holidays
