Ottawa Rapid FC Performance Analyst/Assistant Coach

The club is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Analyst/Assistant Coach to join our coaching staff. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in analyzing match footage, providing insights into player performance, on-field support and supporting tactical development. This position requires a strong understanding of soccer, advanced video editing skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with coaches and players.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyze game footage to identify patterns, strengths, and weaknesses in team and opponent performance.
- Prepare and present clear visuals and video-based insights for coaches and players.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive video library of matches, training sessions, and player performance for review by coaches and players.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to develop tactical strategies based on video analysis.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations that outline key findings from match analyses, including statistical data and visual aids.
- Take part in IDP Program, deliver sessions and feedback to players.
- Work with players to highlight areas for improvement and track progress over the season in alignment with coaches.
- Liaise with coaching staff to understand specific analytical needs and provide timely insights to support training and match preparation.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss analysis findings and integrate feedback into practice sessions.
- Utilize video analysis software and tools to enhance analysis capabilities.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and techniques in sports analytics to continuously improve analysis processes.

- Design and manage team templates and materials for training, opposition analysis, match preparation, and post‑match review.
- Support Club promotional initiatives by contributing analysis‑driven content, participating in community events and youth programs, and representing the technical staff at Club, partner, and fan‑engagement activities.
- Collaborate with marketing, communications, and community teams to provide performance insights, educational context, and technical narratives that strengthen brand visibility, deepen supporter understanding, and enhance community relationships.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Sports Management, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- CONCACAF A Licence or equivalent.
- Previous experience in video analysis, coaching, or sports analytics, preferably in a high‑performance soccer environment.
- Familiarity with video analysis software (e.g., Hudl, SportsCode, or similar tools).
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficient in video editing software and presentation tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Ability to travel to all away games and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Job details:
- This is a full‑time, fixed term position ending on December 31, 2026 that requires the candidate to be in Ottawa.
- Annualized salary range is $70 000–75 000 which will be prorated based on start date.
