About Us

At Tech Electrical Overhead Crane, we specialize in the installation, maintenance, and repair of lifting and hoisting equipment across Vancouver Island. With a focus on safety, reliability, and quality service, we serve a wide range of industrial clients throughout the region. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Overhead Crane Technician to join our growing team.

Position Summary

As an Overhead Crane Technician, you’ll be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing overhead cranes, hoists, and related lifting equipment. This is a field-based position, involving travel to client sites across Vancouver Island.

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance on overhead cranes and hoists.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and structural components of lifting systems.
  • Complete installations of new crane systems or upgrades to existing equipment.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and perform repairs efficiently and safely.
  • Prepare service reports, safety documentation, and job completion records.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable CSA / ASME standards and provincial regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment on client sites.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2–3 years experience servicing overhead cranes or similar industrial equipment.
  • Electrical or Mechanical trade certification preferred (e.g. Red Seal Millwright or Electrician).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, VFDs, and PLCs is an asset.
  • Comfortable working at heights and using fall protection.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
