Outside Sales Representative – CPG Retail

Greater Vancouver, BC

Our client, a leader in retail technology solutions, is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to join their team. They have partnered with Nick Kanaan of Lock Search Group to find their new Outside Sales Representative to lead their BC team. This role is responsible for driving sales growth in the BC marketplace. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing company and play a key role in expanding their retail solutions presence. This position will have the flexibility of working from a home‑based environment when not directly dealing with customers face to face.

Reporting to the BC Sales Manager, the Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for driving sales growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with potential clients, and expanding sales within existing accounts. This role involves promoting our client’s full range of retail solutions, including weigh scales, pricing systems, labeling equipment, ESL, POS, and additional non‑branded products. The ideal candidate will be based in the Greater Vancouver market and adaptable to an evolving role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement sales plans and strategies to expand product presence in the retail industry.
  • Identify and attract new customers while maintaining relationships with existing accounts.
  • Work collaboratively with the product engineering, service, and business support functions to deliver set targets and achieve goals.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity records and update CRM systems as required.
  • Prepare sales proposals, quotations, and value propositions based on client needs.
  • Cross‑sell and upsell assigned products to maximize revenue.
  • Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to potential customers.
  • Participate in sales campaigns, trade shows, and promotional events.
  • Be aware of and responsive to market conditions and competitive activities; communicate such information internally and drive corrective strategies or actions.
Qualifications
  • Prefer a Degree or Technical Certificate but not required.
  • Previous experience working within the CPG or Retail Food Space (Food, Bev, Alcohol, Cannabis, Grocery, Consumer Goods).
  • Strong technical aptitude with solid mathematical and basic accounting skills.
  • Must have a designated home office space.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self‑motivated with a proactive approach and strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain good business relations with customers.
  • Demonstrated ability in adapting to a fast‑paced sales environment, managing change, and thriving in a high‑energy atmosphere.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
