Job description

Job Description:

  • The Operations Engineer will be part of the functional integration team working on ADAS features leading up to and after launch.
  • The engineer will analyze data coming in from development vehicles as well as vehicles in the field to monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • The engineer will lead the cross-functional resolution of connected ADAS within the organization and support broader functional integrator objectives, as requested.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Program & supplier management
  • Open issue tracking with proactive issue resolution
  • Delivery to all vehicle program milestones and all aspects of cradle to grave functional integration activity, including:
  • Authoring of specifications
  • Sourcing documents
  • Change management
  • Requirements clarification and cross-functional team alignment
  • Program development timelines
  • Develop system level diagnostics
  • Conduct HW/SW design reviews
  • Author/review/approve FMEAs & DVPRs
  • Launch support
  • Safe-launch plan development
  • Identify quality improvements
  • Rapid response to warranty
  • Technical cost reductions
  • Documenting lessons learned, etc.

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of relevant automotive experience preferred; will consider recent college graduates
  • Detail oriented, results driven
  • Ability to effectively operate both independently and as part of a team with minimal oversight/direction
  • Logical thinker who can systematically sort through complex issues in pursuit of a resolution
  • Excellent organizational skills

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with organizing and presenting large data sets
  • Functional use of internal systems (CN, GIMS, CCD, EBOM, WIS, etc.)
  • Experience with Controller Area Network (CAN)
  • Familiar with CAN/Ethernet communication protocols and troubleshooting tools
  • Experience with Vector CAN tools (CANalyzer or Canoe)
  • Experience with CDA Diagnostic Application tool
  • Experience in root cause and DFSS techniques (is-is not, 5-why, DMAIC, 8D, 5-penny, fishbone/fault-tree analysis)

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited school
