Job description

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring an Operations Advisor, Convenience Store and Gas Bar on a permanent basis on our Petroleum Sales & Operations team. This position is a hybrid opportunity based in Edmonton, AB and requires approximately 60% travel time within Edmonton and Northern Alberta areas.

What you’ll do:

  • You will provide support and advice to local Co-ops regarding their gas bar/c-store/car wash/propane business operations, marketing, financials, facility design and development, and training.
  • You will help local Co-ops identify areas of opportunity and develop project plans, gather and analyze data, and complete proposals.
  • You will build strong relationships with local Co-op leaders to foster trusting and valuable collaboration between FCL and local Co-ops.
  • You will help guide training and development for local Co-op team leaders and their teams.

You will work closely with other Operations Advisors and report into the Operations Manager, Petroleum on a team that strives to maintain an action-oriented, customer-driven, and collaborative culture.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in operations and business development and:

  • Have 6+ years of relevant experience in the retail industry. Convenience store management experience and marketing and operations knowledge is an asset (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.)
  • Have a diploma or bachelor’s degree in commerce, agriculture, or a related field.
  • Have demonstrated experience in customer service and building relationships.
