Job summary

A mining company in northeastern Ontario is seeking a New or Recent Graduate Civil Engineer to assist with civil engineering tasks and support planning and design projects. YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you will be part of the Tailings Management Area. This role is specifically designed to develop the successful candidate into a licensed Professional Engineer, supporting a long-term career at Agnico Eagle. You will support operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement while learning and growing in a dynamic mining environment.

Assist with daily civil engineering tasks, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Support the planning, design, and scheduling of civil works and infrastructure projects.

Collaborate with operations, environment and other related disciplines to optimize construction performance.

Participate in safety initiatives and promote a culture of safety and responsibility.

Contribute to environmental stewardship and compliance efforts.

Engage in continuous improvement projects and support technology adoption.

Learn to use civil engineering software and tools.

Take part in training and development opportunities to build your technical and leadership skills.

Benefit from mentorship and guidance to progress towards professional engineering licensure.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (graduated within the last 2 years or soon to graduate).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Effective communicator and team player.

Eager to learn, adapt, and contribute in a fast-paced environment.

Commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and Agnico Eagle’s values.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI.

Your Work Schedule

Schedule: 7/7 or 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine. Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
