Job description
Overview

edX, part of 2U Inc., partners with universities and organizations to deliver skills-based training to a global learner community. The role is with 2U's Enterprise team for a curriculum development project and can be full-time or part-time. You’ll work remotely with curriculum and QA engineers, instructional designers, and editorial partners to write technical curriculum that is instructive, engaging, and measurable for student learning outcomes. The position supports a fast-paced environment with flexible, iterative delivery.

The ideal candidate has strong .NET Core/C# expertise, a track record on complex projects with flexibly-resourced teams, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements. You may teach a full-time cohort remotely or on-site in Charlotte, NC (post Covid-19).

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with curriculum and QA engineers, instructional designers, and editorial partners to write technical curriculum.
  • Develop instructional materials that are highly instructive, engaging, and teachable with expected learning outcomes for students.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, iterating based on feedback and shipping when appropriate.
  • Support remote or on-site teaching of a full-time cohort when required.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Data structures and error handling in C#
  • SQL, relational modeling, and relational databases
  • Entity Framework
  • Agile methodologies and Pivotal Tracker
  • General familiarity with CI/CD tools
  • Test-Driven Development and testing with xUnit
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and writing skills
  • Ability to communicate complex topics clearly to beginners
Bonus Skills
  • Angular 8, 9, or 10
  • Typescript 3 or 4
  • Experience writing technical curriculum or instructional content
  • Experience collaborating with writers or instructional designers
  • Experience teaching programming or related topics
  • Experience with online or asynchronous learning

Commitment
  • Full-time (40 hours/week) or part-time (29 hours/week)
  • Start as soon as possible
  • 7-8 month contract
  • Fully remote
  • Daily standups with the team
  • At least 4 hours daily overlap with Central U.S. time zone
  • Able to teach a full-time cohort either remotely or on-site in Charlotte, NC (post Covid-19)

Hourly salary: In Colorado, the anticipated hourly salary for this role is $38/hr. Final compensation may consider geographic location and prior work experience.
