Position Summary:
Through experiential modules in visual art, music, dance, and drama, students engage in these artistic practices while exploring the developmental relevance and therapeutic impact of children's active participation in the creative arts. Students apply their theoretical and practical learning from these modules in order to design accessible activities for, and then provide leadership at, a week-long inclusive creative arts day-camp entitled "Arts Express".
May 4, 11 & 12, June 15, 16 & 23, July 3rd (18 hours total instruction)
This course-instructor position entails 32 hours of supervisory/administrative responsibilities at KidsAbility and Laurier, plus 3 hours of planning meetings for the Arts Express camp, July 6-10, 2026
Required: Master’s degree in Music Therapy. Experience working in community-based arts programming in the areas of program development, leadership, and management/supervision of staff. Experience teaching and/or working as a music therapist, specifically with children with physical and developmental disabilities.
Specialization: Music Therapy Certification (MTA) required.
Salary: $4,648.44. Administrative work during Arts Express camp week to be paid separately ($50/hr).
