A Microsoft Dynamics Functional Analyst – Finance position plays a key role in identifying, analyzing and translating business requirements and processes into D365 F&O technological solutions. The analyst provides guidance to stakeholders on how Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations can best meet their needs, performs fit‑gap analysis and builds Functional Design Documents required for a successful implementation (reports, interfaces, conversions, extensions, and workflows). During the project development phase, the analyst configures project and operational environments, supports the development team, provides demos, and helps plan and execute testing to ensure the integrated solution meets business requirements. The role requires excellent communication skills and deep knowledge of functional analysis practices and strategic business acumen. The analyst works closely with business partners, analysts, architects, the development team and managers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand, document, and analyze functional requirements.
• Translate business requirements into effective D365 F&O solutions, including configuration and design for module integration.
• Facilitate the implementation and support of D365 F&O to enhance business processes while resolving complex situations and handling operational escalations.
• Identify and conduct required testing, including defining/supporting acceptance testing and gathering feedback from pre‑release testers.
• Participate in each phase of full‑cycle D365 F&O implementations and organize working sessions with different stakeholders and team members.
• Provide user training and documentation on specific solutions to ensure effective use of systems.
• Collaborate with the technical team to ensure effective implementation and integration with other systems.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of D365 F&O and related software applications.
• Provide end‑user support and troubleshooting for the D365 F&O ERP system.
• Conduct business process analysis and identify key areas for improvement.
• Monitor and actively resolve incidents, service requests and demand items through the Lallemand ITSM Framework.
• Configure chart of accounts, financial dimensions, posting definitions, period close, allocations, and journals.
• Configure vendor setup, invoice journal, payment proposal and workflows.
• Configure customer invoicing, cash receipts, credit and collections.
• Configure asset acquisition, depreciation books, transfers, and disposals.
• Configure bank reconciliation, payment processing, positive pay, sales/use/VAT tax configuration, withholding tax, and tax reporting.
• Experience with Electronic Reporting (ER) framework and intercompany accounting setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, accounting, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementations, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of the Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations – Finance module.
• Proven ability to identify and formalize business needs, convert them into use cases, user case histories, and/or test cases.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications are an asset.
