Career Opportunity: Mental Health Therapist – Community

Location: This position follows a rotational schedule: two weeks providing services in-community in Takla Landing, followed by two weeks delivering virtual counselling services from a CSFS office in Prince George. Travel to and from the community is required on a biweekly basis.

Employment Type: Full-Time, 35 hours per week

The Opportunity
  • Develop a case load through referral of individuals and groups from CSFS and the community; Health, Social and Education service providers.
  • Conduct research and prepare case histories on individuals, families and groups referred by other service providers.
  • Prepare an agreed upon case plan with the client that contains goals for mental health issue modification/amelioration and the behavioral change methods for achieving those goals.
  • Develop a tailored approach to counseling and intervention methods through one, or a combination of individual psychotherapy, group therapy, couple’s therapy, family therapy, and personal enhancement interventions.
  • Apply principles of behavioral change in administering individual, couples, group, and family counseling sessions to achieve goals.
What You Will Bring To The Role
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Educational Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or comparable degree with strong clinical skills.
  • Registered, or eligible to be registered, with their respective professional bodies.
  • Two years of related experience with responsibility for providing a range of community based mental health services.

Wage Range

The target hiring range for this position is $43.27 to $56.04 per hour. A shift premium of $5 per hour will be provided during time worked in person in the community, in recognition of remote service delivery.
