Overview
Agilus is recruiting for the Mechanical Turnaround Planner in the oil & gas industry in Sarnia, Ontario.
The Mechanical Turnaround Planner will be instrumental in developing detailed work packages in Prometheus STO and preparing work orders in SAP to support successful turnaround operations.
Responsibilities
- Field scoping to determine requirements for mechanical equipment – pressure safety valves, piping, manual block valves, and rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, agitators).
- Develop clearly defined job steps and detailed work plans for field execution.
- Collaborate with support trades (Scaffolding, Insulation, Mechanical, etc.) and third-party vendors to coordinate project activities.
- Estimate man-hours and resource allocation for each trade and task. Prepare and order material required, ensuring readiness for each activity.
- Audit kitting of materials for work packages to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Plan found work during the execution phase to address unforeseen requirements effectively.
- Provide technical direction to teams and oversee the execution of turnaround plans.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary or technical college diploma with 5+ years of related experience, or equivalent practical field experience (Journeyperson, Trade Certification).
- Proficient in SAP.
- Experience with Prometheus STO, and scheduling tools like Prometheus Scheduler, P6 Primavera or Microsoft Project (considered an asset).
- Advanced knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Demonstrated non-authoritative leadership with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.

- Normal Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday. Overtime may be required during turnaround preparations. Turnaround Schedule: 10-hour shifts, Monday to Saturday. Additional overtime may be required as needed
