Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the hot oil heater and maintain temperatures using hot oil.
  • Load and offload trucks arriving at the plant.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and assist with general terminal duties.

Position Summary

In this role, your responsibilities as an Operator-4th Class Power Engineer will include, but not be limited to, monitoring a hot oil heater, off loading and loading trucks coming to the plant, controlling the heat of the tanks using hot oil heaters, manufacturing asphaltic products, preventative maintenance and other general duties at the McAsphalt Clairmont Terminal. You will follow all standard operating procedures and policies established by the McAsphalt Operations department.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Power Engineer education with a valid 4th class steam ticket
  • Previous experience with high pressure boilers a strong asset
  • A strong work ethic and ability to work in small team(s)
  • A reliable method of transportation to and from work in a timely manner
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, being responsible, resourceful and autonomous
  • Ability to work outdoors, at height and in all environments
  • Experience with pumps, piping, heat tracing, hot oil heaters will be considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communications in English with a strong interpersonal attitude
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel at the intermediate level with strong organizational skills
  • Lastly, a good sense of humor will also be a great asset
