● Perform tasks across various engineering fields, primarily related to metallics and chemical processes.
● Lead research & development projects on environmentally compliant materials and processes; knowledge of environmental regulations such as REACH is an asset.
● Develop material qualification test plans, coordinate with laboratories, analyze results, and prepare test reports.
● Review and approve engineering drawings and manufacturing technique sheets.
● Collaborate with Production, Methods, Quality, and Logistics to resolve production issues related to materials and processes.
● Support process improvement and cost reduction projects, ensuring timely risk and issue management.
● Possess a degree in Materials, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
● Have 8 to 15 years of experience in an aerospace/military production environment.
● Be familiar with aerospace and military standards such as MIL specs, Federal regulations, ASTM, ISO, and SAE specifications.
● Have extensive knowledge of metallic materials used in aerospace, mainly aluminum, steel, and titanium, including corrosion mechanisms and prevention methods.
● Understand manufacturing processes like machining, forming, heat treatment, shot peening, and chemical surface treatments such as anodizing and chemical conversion coatings.
● Be skilled in engineering design principles and drawing reviews.
● Demonstrate ability to solve engineering problems independently and efficiently.
● Possess a proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
● Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and French.
● Be capable of working effectively in a team environment, interacting daily with technical experts, professionals, and technicians.
