Overview

Join the Otter Co-op Marketing & Community Relations Team at our Administration Office in Langley, BC. We are now accepting applications for a Marketing and Community Relations Coordinator.

Are you a people-person bursting with creativity, fueled by curiosity, and ready to turn everyday moments into big ideas? Otter Co-op is looking for someone who’s excited about building community as they are about brainstorming the next great campaign. If you love connecting with others, bringing fresh ideas to the table, and making a real impact across the communities we serve, this could be the position you’ve been waiting for.

Who We Are

Otter Co-op is a diverse and growing organization serving the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley and BC Interior since 1922. With over 100 years in business and over 1000 team members, we are a locally owned and community minded member of the neighbourhoods we live, work and play in. We operate three food and pharmacy stores (including one with a fashion and hardware department), thirty Angry Otter liquor stores, two feed mills, two bulk petroleum facilities, the Angry Otter Tap & Forno and Brewery in North Vancouver, the Highwayman Pub in Abbotsford, the Highwayman Pub in South Surrey and twenty-five gas station/convenience stores. To learn more, visit us at www.otterco-op.crs.

Who You Are

You’re not just looking for a job; you’re looking for a career in Marketing and Community Relations that lets you flex your creativity, connect with people, and make a positive impact in our communities.

You are … the life of the brainstorm, the kind of person who makes friends in the grocery line. Your brain? Basically a Pinterest board on overdrive, where everything around you sparks inspiration. A song lyric, a funny TikTok, even your morning coffee foam can turn into a full-blown campaign concept. You’re self-motivated, fueled by curiosity, and love turning “what ifs” into “absolutely.”

You will be based in our Administration Office in Langley where you will collaborate with a dynamic team while managing projects independently. However, you will not be tied to your desk as you will regularly get out into the community visiting our locations and connecting with teams across all divisions.

You are eager to learn, hungry to grow, and ready to make an impact wherever you go.

What You Bring
  • At least one year of experience in marketing, community relations, or a related field (bonus points for experience with co-operatives or nonprofits).
  • A love for building relationships, connecting with people, and creating a sense of community.
  • Organizational superpowers: juggling multiple tasks, prioritizing effectively, and hitting deadlines without breaking a sweat.
  • Focus and attention to completing work/projects as assigned, following through on tasks in both an office environment and at events.
  • Initiative, creativity, and a collaborative spirit to help turn goals into real results.
  • Clear, consistent communication skills (both face-to-face and in writing).
  • A roll-up-your-sleeves, make-it-happen attitude, whether that’s picking up the phone, troubleshooting, or pitching in at events.
  • Confidence with Microsoft Office (required) and familiarity with email marketing platforms, Adobe Creative Suite, social media management, and content creation tools.
  • A great sense of humor, because we like to have fun while we work.
  • Commitment to a safe working environment.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • A valid Class-5 driver’s license and flexibility to travel within BC for events, on-location meetings, or competitive checks as needed.

  • Act reactively, imaginatively, resourcefully, and authentically to meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to the team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community, and Excellence.
  • Other duties as assigned.
