Manager Partnerships Atlantic Canada (Full-Time Remote within Atlantic Canada)

As Canada's largest cleantech innovation and adoption accelerator we de-risk and simplify public and private sector adoption of the world’s best clean technologies to improve productivity, profitability and economic competitiveness all while addressing urgent climate challenges.

Role and Objectives

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Partnerships, this role will play a key part in expanding Foresight’s support for net-zero initiatives in Atlantic Canada and strengthening connections between the region’s innovation ecosystem and national and global networks. As Foresight operates as a non-profit entity, a central responsibility of this position is to attract and manage government and private sector funding to enable cleantech innovation programming across the region.

This work will support Foresight’s three core programmatic pillars:

  • Cleantech-Focused Venture Acceleration Programs
  • Industry and Government Innovation Adoption Initiatives
  • Ecosystem Development Activities

The ideal candidate is a well-connected community builder with a demonstrated passion for advancing Canada’s climate goals through cleantech innovation. They possess a strong understanding of Atlantic Canada’s unique strengths and opportunities in developing a globally recognized clean technology ecosystem. The successful applicant will have a proven track record in securing funding through grant and proposal writing, be a confident and engaging presenter, and bring experience with CRM systems. They are comfortable working independently, thrive in a remote work environment, and consistently deliver high-quality results through effective time and project management.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Act as a visible and credible representative of Foresight in Atlantic Canada, championing the growth of the regional cleantech ecosystem.
  • Perform full cycle revenue generation by sourcing, sharing and closing relevant business development and funding opportunities that support Foresight’s expansion and impact in Atlantic Canada.
  • Lead the development and execution of proposals, manage project lifecycles, oversee program budgets and ensure timely, high-quality reporting for all Atlantic Canada initiatives.
  • Identify and engage high-potential ventures to participate in Foresight’s acceleration programs.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a tailored strategy that addresses Atlantic Canada’s unique innovation needs while fostering alignment with federal priorities and international partnerships and garnering feedback from the Partnerships team.
  • With the support of Foresight’s larger Events team, ideate, plan and deliver strategic events such as roundtables, pitch days and ecosystem gatherings that support program goals, strengthen stakeholder engagement and raise the visibility of cleantech innovation in the region.
  • Monitor and communicate key developments within the regional innovation and venture ecosystem to inform national strategy and partner engagement.
  • Design and manage initiatives that foster collaboration between cleantech companies, industry stakeholders and technology adopters to strengthen the regional ecosystem.
  • Facilitate connections among accelerator programs, government partners and enterprise innovation leaders to drive strategic outcomes in the Atlantic innovation landscape.
  • Be willing to travel for events and conferences across the Atlantic provinces as needed.
Experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability and enthusiasm to build relationships and represent the organization at cleantech and innovation-related community events.
  • Proven experience in writing successful proposals and managing funding applications up to and exceeding $100,000.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex multi-year public grant programs including rigorous reporting requirements.
  • Experience in securing and managing sponsorships and events.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in government, non-profit or private industry, ideally within the innovation or sustainability sectors.
  • A post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., business, sustainability, engineering, public policy) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional project management and independent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
Nice to Haves
  • Sector knowledge or direct experience in one or more industries such as agriculture, fisheries, water, energy, forestry, mining, the built environment or carbon management.
  • Familiarity with clean technology and sustainability, particularly within Atlantic Canada’s corporate sector, relevant government agencies, or key innovation networks (e.g., provincial funders and investor groups, Volta, Net Impact, Energy Futures Lab or equivalent organizations).
  • An understanding of the entrepreneurial journey, including exposure to venture investment, acceleration programming, pitch sessions and emerging technologies.
