The Maintenance Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the NEW Sunbury Speedbay, ensuring all vehicles and equipment are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency. This role leads a team of skilled technicians, maintenance labourers, and a parts technician, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise, mentor, and schedule a team of technicians, maintenance labourers, and the parts technician.
  • Oversee all maintenance and repair activities for the fleet, ensuring timely and high-quality service.
  • Coordinate with dispatch, drivers, and other departments to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor shop workflow, assign tasks, and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Manage inventory of parts and supplies, working closely with the parts technician to ensure availability and cost control.
  • Review and approve work orders, maintenance records, and invoices.
  • Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and provide ongoing training and development.
  • Address performance issues, resolve conflicts, and promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as shop productivity, vehicle uptime, and maintenance costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all provincial and federal transportation and safety regulations.
