Corteva has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician to join our team at our Lethbridge, AB site.

What You Will Do
  • You will always work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure you, and your colleagues go home safe every day.
  • As a maintenance team member, your primary role will be to support production operations through the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of various electrical systems and equipment.
  • Ensure the operation of company equipment, including, but not limited to, electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control devices.
  • Perform electrical repairs, service, troubleshooting, and scheduled equipment inspections, following the prescribed guidelines and procedures.
  • Review and assist program leaders and teams with the electrical safety program to ensure adherence.
  • Adhere to all quality systems & safety procedures, including environmental regulations.
  • Make recommendations for improved safety through electrical programs and/or process changes.
  • Work with the maintenance supervisor, coordinator and specialist on work queues, work orders and projects. Help organize and plan work, including seasonal shutdowns.
  • Assist maintenance team members with their daily work tasks as needed.
  • Assist production team members with their daily work tasks as needed.
  • Perform overtime hours, including weekend work, as required during seasonal peaks.
  • Scheduled on-call coverage required during seasonal peaks.
  • Various other duties as required by the needs of the business.
Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Alberta Electrical Journeyman certificate or Interprovincial Red Seal Electrical Journeyman certificate

Requirements - What You Will Have Or Will Provide:

  • An attitude of curiosity. Willing to be mentored and willing to mentor professional skills as applicable to daily tasks.
  • Rotating day and evening shifts.
  • Valid Class “5” driver’s license required and able to obtain a driver's abstract.
  • Industrial electrical maintenance work experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in maintaining, repairing, installing, and troubleshooting industrial electrical panels and equipment up to 600V.
  • Knowledge and experience troubleshooting electrical issues related to motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC.
  • Knowledge and experience in maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, and installing MCPs, ICPs, fire and securing systems, and communications systems.
  • Working knowledge of and willingness to interpret the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
  • An understanding of PLC automation (Allen Bradley) and ladder logic is an asset.
  • General knowledge and some experience troubleshooting mechanical issues related to motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in plans and effectively triage multiple trouble calls.
  • Willing and able to climb and/or work in elevated areas, stand and sit for extended periods, and work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation).
  • Comfortable with technology, good computer aptitude, and willingness to learn other company-specific applications as required.
  • Experience using an electronic maintenance module such as SAP R3 is an asset.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. and perform work involving repetitive motion and/or lifting.
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Maintain an organized workplace and have excellent critical thinking skills.
