Qualifications

  • Degree from an approved school of Social Work.
  • One year recent experience with the elderly in residential settings.
  • Full registration with the BC College of Social Workers.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates admissions and conducts interviews.
  • Assists with financial matters and liaises with agencies.
  • Provides counseling and education for residents and families.
  • Arranges and chairs care plan conferences.
  • Maintains records of social work services.
  • Acts as advocate and consults on practice issues.
  • Coordinates Resident Council and Family Support Group meetings.
  • Participates in quality improvement and safety programs.
