Qualifications

  • Completion of lift courses: Lift 151, 152, and 153.
  • Ability to meet heavy physical demands indoors and outdoors.
  • Strong knowledge of current WorkSafeBC regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct lead hands and staff to complete all scheduled and unscheduled lift maintenance.
  • Authorize lift down responses such as APU use, evacuation, and rope evacuation when required.
  • Assist in building and maintaining the Lift Maintenance SiteDocs app.

Skills

Journeyman Millwright or Heavy-Duty Mechanic with a minimum of 4 years of passenger ropeway experience
Strong desire to develop a long-term career in the ski industry
Strong communication skills
Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License
Demonstrated leadership qualities
Strong familiarity with CSA Z-98 code
Non-Destructive Testing MPI Level II certification is an asset

Compensation Information

$94,650 per annum

Heavy; work activities involve handling loads up to 35kg; both in an indoor & outdoor environment.

Skills
  • Journeyman Millwright or Heavy-Duty Mechanic with a minimum of 4 years of passenger ropeway experience; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • Available to work early mornings, days, evenings, nights, and weekends as required.

  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License; annual Driver’s Abstract submission required.
  • Strong knowledge of current WorkSafeBC regulations.
  • Passenger Ropeways and Passenger Conveyors Act & Regulations course.
  • Strategic mindset and ability to support departmental improvement and development.
  • High level of dedication, vision, and commitment to the growth and development of Sun Peaks Resort.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate the highest level of courtesy, respect, and professionalism in interactions with management, staff, co-workers, and guests at all times, including when off duty.
  • Work closely with the Lift Maintenance Manager and keep them informed of all relevant information.
  • Assume full direction of the Lift Maintenance Department in the Manager’s absence.
  • Oversee and direct lead hands and staff to complete all scheduled and unscheduled lift maintenance in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and CSA Z-98 code.
  • Maintain lift maintenance standards that meet or exceed industry expectations.
  • Authorize lift down responses such as APU use, evacuation, and rope evacuation when required, ensuring all applicable parties are notified and informed.
  • Remain fully familiar with applicable S.O.G.s and emergency response plans.
  • Complete weekly Payworks timesheets.
  • Maintain CMMS scheduling, preventive maintenance tasks, shift assignments, and maintenance record keeping.
  • Assist in building and maintaining the Lift Maintenance SiteDocs app.
  • Lead daily safety and duty meetings; complete and file required documentation.
  • Ensure forms and check sheets are completed accurately, scanned, and filed promptly.
  • Serve as Edge Auditor: build and maintain log sheets and review submissions.
  • Assist in maintaining spare parts inventories and organizing inventory storage.
  • Prepare TSBC submissions (installation permits, incident reports, pre-operation declarations) for review by the Lift Maintenance Manager.
  • Prepare monthly budget variance reports for management review.
  • Coordinate training opportunities and assist in developing and implementing training materials.
  • Assist with maintaining training records and planning training sessions and tools.
  • Coordinate new lift projects.
  • Assist with employee performance evaluations.
  • Support implementation and progression of EMS.
  • Demonstrate Sun Peaks Resort’s 7 Core Leadership Competencies.
  • Uphold the Lift Maintenance department’s strong reputation as being professional, reliable, helpful, approachable, and efficient internally and externally.
