Job description

Our client is one of the world's largest companies in providing quality automotive parts to international automobile manufacturers. Currently, we are seeking an experienced Licensed Electrician to join the team.

Working location: Scarborough (Markham Rd & Finch Ave E)

Certification: (442A or 309D) (In good standing)

Job-specific requirements: Must have PLC and robotic experience

Job Duties

  1. Report any safety hazards immediately to the Assistant Maintenance Manager / Lead Hand / Plant Manager.
  2. Ensure and abide by the company's Lockout procedures at all times, including using lockout procedures and Ram Block when press is being cleaned or repaired.
  3. Ensure and abide by guarding procedures at all times.
  4. Adhere to the company's forklift pedestrian guidelines at all times.
  5. Install, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices, and equipment.
  6. Troubleshoot and maintain plant and production equipment, including hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  7. Repair and replace electrical and electronic components such as motors, contactors, relays, timers, switches, sensors, PLCs, light curtains, motor controls, etc.
  8. Run new power supply lines to new and relocated equipment according to Hydro Codes and other standards.
  9. Wire new control panels according to drawings and verbal instructions, considering applicable standards.
  10. Use PLC programming devices and software to modify and read logic control programs.
  11. Maintain adequate hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic spare parts inventory levels.
  12. Enter work data accurately and promptly into the Maintenance Tracking system.

Job Requirements

  • Valid Ontario Electrician License (442A or 309D) with knowledge of electrical codes.
  • Minimum of three years as a Licensed Electrician in an automotive environment, preferably with stamping and welding robotics.
  • Working knowledge of electric circuitry, relays, PLC logic (Allen Bradley, Omron).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of technical controls.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to hazards associated with the trade.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity; ability to stand, crouch, or bend for long periods.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Work at heights and in hot/cold temperatures.
  • Overtime and some travel may be required.
  • Exposure to loud noise.
