Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP is currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to work with the Litigation group in our Vancouver Office. This position will appeal to candidates who enjoy a fun, challenging position in an office with a great culture. The primary responsibilities of the position are outlined below:

You Will Be Focusing On
  • Edit, format and revise pleadings, agreement documents, letters, memos, reports, forms and other documents using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Manage documents on cloud share platforms and virtual deal rooms, track new versions and prepare blacklines
  • Initiate documentation and correspondence on files
  • Maintain files, including assisting with opening and closing client/matter files
  • Update client file lists
  • Maintain an efficient file management and bring forward system
  • Perform administrative and related duties as assigned and assist others in the department as required
  • Perform a variety of routine tasks as well as special projects as required
  • Attending at the Court Registries to file legal documentation
  • Scanning, photocopying and compiling court documents and briefs
  • Prepare cheque requisitions and courier packages for delivery
  • Handling incoming and outgoing mail
  • Perform administrative and related duties as assigned and assist others in the department as required
  • Perform a variety of routine tasks as well as special projects as required
What You Bring To The Role
  • 3+ years of experience in a Legal Assistant position preferably with Litigation experience
  • Graduate of Legal Administrative Assistant program or relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Supreme Court of British Columbia rules and procedures
  • Advanced PC skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite (Chrome River, SAP, MS Teams, iManage knowledge would be an asset)
  • Able to work with minimal direction or instructions
  • Able to delegate work appropriately to other service departments and/or Administrative Clerks
  • Able to manage, organize and prioritize work independently
  • Able to maintain excellent working relationships with all staff
  • Excellent spelling and grammar skills
