Overview

Sinai Health and the Department of Ophthalmology & Vision Sciences at the University of Toronto invite applications for a part‑time (at least 20% clinical, research and education) Uveitis and Retinopathy of Prematurity Specialist, effective January 2, 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Teach medical students, residents and fellows.
  • Participate in on‑call duties and quality‑improvement, education and research committees.
  • Provide clinical sub‑specialty care in uveitis and ROP screening primarily at Sinai Health (Mount Sinai Hospital and Bridgepoint sites), including:
  • General ophthalmology and uveitis care at Mount Sinai.
  • ROP screening at Mount Sinai neonatal ICU.
  • General ophthalmology clinic at Bridgepoint as required.
  • Contribute to the academic enterprise of the department, including research and publication.
Qualifications
  • MD or equivalent degree.
  • Fellowship training in uveitis.
  • Eligibility for academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer or higher at the University of Toronto.
  • Current or eligible certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
  • Research skills evidenced by advanced training and publication history.
  • Graduate degrees or certified training in quality improvement, epidemiology, data management, public health and/or medical education are an asset.
  • Ability to teach and train at the university level.
