The Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, and the Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre are seeking a qualified academic Physiatrist for a position as a Clinician Teacher or Clinician in Quality and Innovation. The candidate must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the University of Toronto. The position is expected to be 75% clinical and 25% research, teaching, quality improvement, and administrative duties. The start date is early 2026, negotiable.
Clinical duties include providing PM&R care in outpatient and inpatient settings at Sunnybrook Bayview and St. John’s Rehab for MSK and Amputee rehabilitation patients. Expertise in MSK, Trauma, Limb loss is preferred. Ultrasound-guided injections are available. Outpatient clinics in other Physiatry areas may be available based on skills and interests.
The candidate must hold an MD and be eligible for certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, with licensure in Ontario.
Applicants should demonstrate clinical excellence in PM&R, with additional training in Teaching, Education, Quality Improvement, or Patient Safety. The role involves teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the University of Toronto.
The candidate reports to the Division Head of PM&R at Sunnybrook. Remuneration is commensurate with rank, qualifications, and experience. Benefits include clinical billings, group medical, dental, and life insurance plans, with membership in the Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association.
