Lookingfor an energetic, detailed-oriented and experienced developer to lead the webdevelopment team and support the development of several applications fordigital image processing. The successful candidate will be expected to assessand scope complex problems, design robust solutions, and oversee and contributeto the technical development of web applications (Flow, Live, Scholar) designedfor viewing, annotating, and analysis of extremely large datasets, specificallywhole slide images (WSI).

You willbe responsible for ensuring development targets are met in a timely fashion, aspart of the Engineering department, by providing oversight and mentoring tojunior developers. The Lead Web Developer will continually strive to improvedevelopment processes, leading to development of high-quality, well-tested, anduser-friendly software.

Responsibilities

• Strive to achieve a 50-50 ratiobetween team management and software development tasks
• Takean active role in understanding technical requirements and devise solutions forachieving them
• Workclosely with other members in the Engineering team to develop architecture andcreate implementation plans
• Assesstasks to determine the effort required and estimate complexity
• Supportthe web development team in carrying out tasks on a routine basis
• Leadand mentor other developers towards best practices and high developmentstandard
• Review,test and enhance existing features
• Performancetuning, testing, and documentation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experiencewith developing web applications
• ExcellentEnglish communication skills; both verbal and written
• Abilityto develop comprehensive and well-designed solutions for complex problems
• Enjoymentoring and leading a team of developers and be accountable for their results
• Detail-orientedwith the ability to learn new technologies and libraries through self-study
• Strongunderstanding of frontend frameworks such as React (preferred) or similarframeworks
• Extensiveexperience with developing web application backends using Flask (preferred), Django, Rails, Express, or equivalent frameworks
• Experiencedeveloping, optimizing and debugging complex SQL databases
• Experiencewith using software development tools and methods (source control, unittesting, bug tracking, continuous integration, etc.)
• Experiencedeploying software on cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Microsoft Azure)
