Wealth Management Data & AI is responsible for delivering a global data foundation and innovative AI capabilities across all of Wealth Management’s global businesses. We are looking to hire a seasoned Data Scientist to lead our AI development efforts. The role will be responsible for applying modern AI and data techniques to deliver digital innovations for Wealth Management Operations

What will you do?
  • Provide technical leadership working with a team of data scientists and data engineers to drive new and innovative AI solutions, ability to deliver without close supervision
  • Lead the requirements discovery, research, and development for a series of new Data and AI digital capabilities for Wealth Management. Participate in the end‑to‑end development of high‑impact AI solutions, from ideas to design, and PoC to production deployment. Collaborate with Data Engineers and business stakeholders to deliver state of the art ML foundational capabilities, and customized agentic AI products to support field advisors across RBC global offices
  • Conduct research on a wide variety of applied data science projects, with focus on building real‑world applications that address operational business challengesBecome a technical subject matter expert, assist in the adoption of and enabling data‑driven process for the business, working closely with business teams to understand their needs, translate business use cases into practical technical problems, and iterate on solutions
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
  • 5+ years of work experience developing high‑impact machine learning solutions in a fast‑paced environment. Proven ability to apply data science and statistical techniques to solve real world business problems. Proficient in building and maintaining models, model tunings, and model monitoring
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python programming languages, hands‑on programming experience developing modular, robust, and scalable pipelines in Python
  • Experienced with AI/ML infrastructure and model deployment for Gen AI applications in production environments and supporting enterprise‑scale use cases
  • Strong foundation in ML and AI basics, knowledge of Inferencing, fine‑tuning, model architectures, Embeddings. Hands‑on experience implementing solutions using modern ML and Deep Learning frameworks, such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit‑Learn, or Hugging Face Transformers
  • Familiar with software engineering industry best practices, including coding standards, testing methods, code reviews, and version control
Nice to Have
  • Master’s or PhD Degree in computer science, engineering or related technical fields
  • Familiar with Fraud Risks monitoring in large enterprise financial institutions
  • Hands‑on experiences prototyping Gen AI applications, including working with foundational LLMs and transformer models, agentic frameworks, vector databases, prompt engineering, designing and refining modular RAG to optimize LLM outputs
  • Experience using AWS Sagemaker, S3, Snowflake, Airflow, Hadoop, PySpark
  • Familiar with JIRA, Confluence, Agile/Scrum development methodology
