A healthcare provider in Alberta is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I to handle daily processing and testing of diagnostic samples. You will analyze results and report findings within the laboratory department. Candidates must complete an accredited MLT program and hold eligibility for CMLTA registration. This full-time role offers a dynamic work environment with weekend and on-call shifts.
Edson, with a population of 8646, is a town in west-central Alberta, located in Yellowhead County, 192 kilometres west of Edmonton. The Town of Edson's strategic location on the Trans-Canada Yellowhead Highway allows Edson to benefit from private, commercial, and industrial traffic. This highway carries some of the heaviest traffic flow in Alberta, with a summer daily traffic flow of approximately 9,900 vehicles. Edson offers a variety of recreational facilities, including the widely-popular Kinsmen Spray Park where you can take the kids to cool down on a hot summer day. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
