St. Brigid’s Summer Camp invites applications from all qualified candidates for the position of Head Chef. The application deadline is Friday, December 9, 2022.

Your Role & How You Will Contribute: As STB’s Head Chef, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen/dining hall and in the preparation and delivery of all meals at camp. The Head Chef will provide high-quality nutritious meals for all staff and campers according to the Health and Safety standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities: This position reports to the Camp Director. Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Adherence to Food Handler policies
  • Managing the kitchen team
  • Ensuring knowledge of special dietary needs and food allergies
  • Operating commercial kitchen equipment in a safe manner and maintaining all kitchen equipment
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workplace to ensure food safety protocols
  • Preparing, cooking, and serving food according to the nutritional guidelines set out in Canada’s Food Guide
  • Planning of the weekly menu and completing the weekly food order
  • Managing food deliveries ensuring all supplies are checked for quality, stored, and rotated properly
  • Fulfilling other tasks as required by the Camp Director

Qualifications: Qualified applicants will have:

  • Food Safe, Food Handlers certification or equivalent (e.g., MAPAQ and WHMIS certification)
  • Able and willing to work with food under strict food safety guidelines
  • Basic first aid
  • All employees over the age of 18 years must provide a current Police Criminal Record Check
