Position Summary

We are seeking a warm, experienced, and committed Waldorf-trained Kindergarten Teacher to lead our Nature Kindergarten program. The ideal candidate will embody the principles of Waldorf education and early childhood development, guiding children through rhythm, routine, story, and play. They will cultivate a nurturing, play-based, and screen-free learning environment in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a Kindergarten program rooted in Waldorf pedagogy, ensuring it is developmentally aligned and collaboratively shaped with faculty.
  • Lead the class with consistency, warmth, and reverence for each child's unfolding.
  • Provide a safe, rhythmically structured, and play-based learning environment.
  • Integrate storytelling, movement, music, seasonal crafts, nature study, and practical life activities into daily routines.
  • Actively mentor and guide children through imitation and modeling.
  • Maintain close communication with parents, including seasonal reports and parent-teacher meetings.
  • Collaborate with other faculty, administration, and support staff.
  • Participate in weekly faculty meetings and professional development.
  • Engage with the life of the school, including seasonal festivals, community events, and shared decision-making processes.

Qualifications

  • Waldorf Early Childhood Teacher Certification from a recognized institution (or in progress) preferred.
  • Experience working in a Waldorf early childhood setting (minimum 2 years preferred).
  • A deep understanding of child development, particularly ages 3-7.
  • Warm, compassionate presence and strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all seasons.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing inner development and professional growth.
  • Current Standard First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain).
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Additional Assets

  • Forest School Practitioner training or experience.
  • Background in handwork, music, or storytelling.
  • Familiarity with the Threefold governance model and collaborative decision-making processes.

Compensation

This is a full-time, salaried position with a compensation range of $40,000–$55,000 annually, depending on experience, training, and alignment with Waldorf pedagogy.
