Qualifications

  • B.Sc. in civil/structural engineering or related field.
  • Experience in industrial structural engineering is an asset.
  • Knowledge of CSA Standards A23.1 and A23.3.

Your Role
  • Perform structural analyses and design of industrial structures including buildings, equipment supports, pipe supports, and foundations with or without the aid of computer software.
  • Support engineering design per applicable codes and standards, including review of cross‑discipline design drawings.
  • Development of engineering work packages, contract documents, and other project‑related documentation as required.
  • Develop material takeoffs and support with project specifications.
  • Perform site visits and provide construction support, including assessment of existing client assets.
  • Effective use of QA tools and completes checklists and submits them to the project lead as required.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering or a related field.
  • Active Member‑in‑Training status in Alberta.
  • Working knowledge of the requirements of CSA Standards A23.1 and A23.3 Concrete Materials and Methods of Concrete Construction / Design of Concrete Structures, as well as CSA S16 Design and Construction of Steel Structures.
  • Experience with industrial structural engineering an asset.
  • Exposure to Civil 3D and Civil earthwork design or construction an asset.
  • Experience in using structural analysis/design software (STAAD Pro and S‑Frame).
  • Must have a working knowledge and ability to use programs such as Navisworks, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Project coordination capabilities with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and on budget is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deliverables on an ongoing basis.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at multiple levels including project stakeholders and clients.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
