The Junior Accountant is responsible for the support functions of the accounting team. As a member of the Finance team at Spirit of Math you will actively support and participate in the accounting process including the production of account analysis and reconciliations, audit preparation and support for all Companies’ audits, internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. You will play a key part in helping scale the financial operations of a high-growth Education company, increasing automation and implementing best practices as we continue to grow.
This role reports to the Director of Finance and will work closely with the Senior Accountant, FP&A Manager and Fulfillment team.

Responsibilities
- Assist in account analysis and reconciliations
- Support audit preparation and internal control maintenance
- Maintain accurate data entry and ensure completeness
- Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting
- Work with tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Business Central, and Dynamics
- Prepare reporting & analysis templates based on month end results
- Process requests from operations such as withdrawals, refunds, and transfers
- Prepare reconciliations of our bank accounts and various payment processors
- Prepare royalties invoices for franchisees
- Calculate amounts owing to the company from customers and franchisees
- Prepare Statements of Account and various financial reports from the system
- Calculate and post entries relating to revenue recognition
- Provide various statistics and insights to Director of Finance on an ad hoc basis
- Manage collections process with operations and flag high risk situations
- Provide weekly collections status reports to operations and Director of Finance
- Post various journal entries in the system as requested
- Provide status of current and historical student registration information as needed
