Job Title : Journeyman Millwright / Industrial Mechanic

Location : Greater Albany, OR and Vancouver, WA (regional opportunity, multiple openings)

Wage : ~26- 36 + Subsistence, DOE

We are seeking experienced Journeyman Millwrights / Industrial Mechanics for ongoing plant maintenance and operations support in the OR, SW WA region. Local candidates or those residing within the region are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble complex mechanical systems.
  • Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments (micrometers, levels, squares, plumb bobs).
  • Install and maintain conveyor systems, belts, scales, sheaves, and associated drive components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine layout and installation procedures.
  • Perform welding tasks (certified structural SMAW / Stick welding to AWS code).
  • Move and position equipment using cranes, dollies, rollers, and rigging gear.
  • Fasten and secure machinery components using bolts, welds, rivets, or adhesives.
  • Layout mounting holes, drill, and prepare surfaces for installation.
  • Construct machinery foundations using cement, steel, and hand tools as needed.
  • Shrink-fit parts using portable heating equipment (bushings, sleeves, rings, etc.).
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations including LOTO, PPE, confined space, and job-specific permits.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Support equipment installation and decommissioning efforts for plant projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of journeyman-level millwright / mechanic experience in industrial settings
  • Current or previous AWS structural welding certification
  • Knowledge of Washington State safety codes and OSHA compliance standards
  • Familiarity with rotating equipment alignment techniques (e.g., dial indicator, laser alignment)
  • Ability to work from schematics, layout drawings, and mechanical diagrams
  • Strong teamwork skills and communication in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment
