A leading engineering firm is looking for an experienced Intermediate Water Resources Engineer to join their Land Development Group in Markham/Barrie. The role involves planning and design of civil land development and stormwater projects, with responsibilities including project reports and hydraulic models. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 6 years of relevant experience. The position offers flexible office and remote work arrangements.
EXP provides flexibility for employees to work in any of our offices in the GTAwith the option to work remotely on the other days.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
⦁Planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services and will include activities focused on design of civil land development and stormwater projects.
⦁Responsibilities may include overseeing the planning and design of various project elements, the preparation of project reports, hydraulic models, calculations, drawings, construction plans and specifications, permitting packages, and documents for inclusion in the final project deliverables.
⦁Overseeing construction phase engineering services.
⦁Coordination with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public will be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives.
What your experience looks like
⦁Bachelor’s degree in engineering plus 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
⦁Licensed Professional Engineer, or the ability to meet the minimum criteria to obtain Professional Engineer registration in Ontario within 1 year of employment date.
⦁Eight (8) years of progressive experience in civil land development projects and stormwater engineering design.
⦁Experience with and working knowledge of surface water analysis, hydrologic methodologies/models, and hydraulic models (Virtual Otthymo, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, etc.).
⦁Ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations.
⦁Project management experience with small to mid-level projects including tracking hours and expenses for project work.
⦁Effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to audiences with diverse technical knowledge.
⦁A valid driver’s license with own vehicle and travel throughout GTA and Southern Ontario is required.
⦁Experience mentoring or supervising other engineering professionals.
⦁Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with diverse audience.
