Position Requirements

What You’ll Bring to the Position:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Five years of related IT experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered; and
  • Information security certifications such as Cisco CCNA Cyber Ops, ISC2 SSCP, GIAC GSEC, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent are preferred. Ability and willingness to obtain certifications within the first year may also be accepted.
Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in this Role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IT, industry security standards and best practices, legal and regulatory requirements as it pertains to information security, risk management, and common security controls;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member in a collaborative team environment;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail;
  • Previous experience with SIEM tools, intrusion detection systems, firewalls, monitoring tools, antivirus and identity and access management;
  • Experience participating in IT projects, preferably in a University environment; and,
  • The ability to work occasional flex time to perform incident responses outside of normal business hours.
