Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the Human Resources Business Partner is a trusted advisor and integral member of the HR team. In this dynamic role, you’ll partner with leaders across the plant to drive the effective delivery of HR programs and initiatives. With a strong focus on employee and labour relations, hourly staffing and onboarding, leave and attendance management, and performance development, you’ll play a key role in shaping a positive and productive workplace culture. What You Can Expect…

  • Provide daily HR support including employee inquiries, attendance management, and new employee orientation.
  • Provide guidance and supports the development of leaders through regular coaching, feedback, and tailored development strategies to enhance leadership capabilities and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Support labour relations by interpreting collective agreements, guiding performance discussions, participating in investigations, and contributing to resolution strategies.
  • Participate in joint committees, including the Standing and Job Evaluation Committees
  • Serve a subject matter expert for legal and employment issues, ensuring compliance with Federal and Provincial employment laws
  • Support policy development and improvements, as well as the development of new HR processes
  • Support and provide advice in the areas of recruitment and retention initiatives
  • Provide additional support to various HR tasks and projects

What You Will Bring...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience of related Human Resources experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Proven abilities with office productivity software and HRIS systems (JD Edwards, Kronos preferred)
  • Knowledge of relevant Federal and Provincial regulations and laws related to HR policies and practices
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint)
  • A CPHR designation is considered an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication
