Wings of Hope for Africa Foundation is a registered Canadian charity dedicated to reducing poverty and empowering communities through food security, youth empowerment, and community development initiatives. We are seeking an HR Specialist to lead our volunteer recruitment and management efforts, helping us strengthen our team and expand our impact in Calgary and beyond.The HR Specialist will play a key role in hiring, onboarding, guiding, and managing volunteers across our programs. The ideal candidate is organized, people-focused, and passionate about community service and capacity building in the nonprofit sector.Key Responsibilities:Lead volunteer recruitment through job postings, outreach, and interviews.Develop and oversee onboarding processes to ensure all volunteers are trained and supported.Maintain accurate volunteer records and ensure compliance with organizational policies.Support program leads with volunteer scheduling and coordination.Provide mentorship, recognition, and performance feedback to volunteers.Update and implement HR policies and procedures related to volunteer engagement.Collaborate with leadership to assess volunteer needs and improve retention strategies.Qualifications:Experience in HR, volunteer management, or nonprofit administration.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.Familiarity with Google Workspace or HR management tools.Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.Knowledge of the Calgary nonprofit landscape is an asset.
