Job description

Our client, a global manufacturing business with a well‑established site in Hull, is looking to create a new Health & Safety role as part of their ongoing commitment to maintaining exceptional standards across the site. Working closely with senior management, you will play a key role in enhancing existing systems and processes, ensuring health and safety standards are effectively monitored, maintained and continuously improved. The business already has an excellent reputation in this area, and this role offers the opportunity to build on strong foundations. This position has clear scope to develop into a management role over time. As such, applicants should already have practical health and safety experience within a manufacturing environment and be keen to further develop their IOSH or NEBOSH knowledge, applying theory into practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a safe, compliant and proactive working environment
  • Monitor site conditions and ensure all employees, contractors and visitors adhere to safe working practices
  • Interpret and implement current health and safety legislation into company policies and procedures
  • Identify risks through regular audits and inspections
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • Actively promote a positive health and safety culture across the business
  • Assist with incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and safety briefings
  • Prepare regular health and safety reports for senior management
The Candidate
  • Previous experience within a health and safety role, ideally in a manufacturing setting
  • Sound knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and investigations
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to deliver training when required
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification (or working towards)
