Job summary

A recreational facility in Calgary is seeking a Guest Services Team Member to provide exceptional care to guests and create an engaging experience. The role requires a high-energy individual with strong communication skills and a flexible schedule for various shifts including weekends. Responsibilities include assisting guests professionally, processing registrations, conducting facility tours, and addressing guest inquiries. The successful candidate will need at least two years of guest services experience and administrative skills. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required soon after hiring.

Job Details

Role: As an integral part of the Sales & Marketing team, the Guest Services Team Member is responsible for taking excellent care of our Guests and creating an engaging and satisfying Guest centric experience. This includes providing an important first impression to our Guests and using a professional and friendly approach in every interaction at the Guest services desk. We are looking for energetic, upbeat and capable individuals with a positive attitude. We are looking for someone who can work all shifts which would include opening to closing and weekends.

Guest Services Team Members are to be available to work a minimum of 1 shift per week.

Reports to: Manager of Sales & Guest Services

What You’ll Do
  • Assist our Guests in a sincere, professional, and courteous manner and go the extra mile to exceed the Guest’s expectations.
  • Provide a positive attitude while on shift
  • Provide extensive knowledge of products and services available at MNP Community & Sport Centre.
  • Process membership cards, pass sales and program registrations efficiently.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls to potential Guests.
  • Register and process Guests promptly upon arrival.
  • Ensure all Guest accounts are complete and accurate.
  • Understand various aspects of the business including a strong knowledge of facility layout, programs, day sheets, public and special events schedule.
  • Listen to Guest complaints with empathy and act appropriately with an empowered and Guest services driven response.
  • Conduct facility tours for potential members.
  • Handle cash and operate equipment – cash register, Tran select machine, printers, camera, photocopier, and computer.
  • Understand and apply all safety, security and emergency procedures including thorough knowledge of Guest Services Desk emergency procedures, and the required action plans.
  • Identify opportunities and take action to promote all programs and services in order to provide a thorough MNP Community & Sport Centre experience for Guests.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multitask while assisting Guests
  • Assist Shift Leaders, Guest Services Team Coordinator and Manager of Sales & Guest Services with Special Projects
What You’ll Need
  • You are a high-energy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at multi-tasking.
  • Scheduling flexibility is required with availability to work opening, closing, and weekend shifts.
  • You will be available to work a minimum of 1 shift per week.
  • At least two- three years of solid Guest services experience is an asset along with excellent communication and organizational skills
  • You must possess the ability to build relationships with Guests and have administrative/computer experience (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Related front desk experience and knowledge of the sport and wellness industry are assets.
  • A willingness to take initiative, and an ability to be part of a fun and empowered team will ensure your success.
  • Certification in CPR Level C and First Aid is required within the first three months of employment.
