Overview

Job Summary:

The Designer works under the direction of the Divisional Design Manager, and in partnership with the Product Manager, delivers a focused and inspiring assortment each season for the assigned product line.

Key responsibilities:
  • Translate vision and emerging trends into the assigned product lines based on concept direction;
  • Maximize sales and gross profits, minimize shuffles and unplanned markdowns (with Product Manager);
  • Create and coordinate multiple pieces that aim to satisfy our clientele and corresponds to our brand image;
  • Work with technical designers, patternmakers, and fit technicians to ensure our clothing corresponds to our specifics;
  • Build a relationship with the Buying team that fosters development of innovative, relevant and fashion‑forward designs;
  • Build a relationship with the Production team that takes into consideration manufacturing limitations, yet pushes our expectations of quality, lead time and price value;
  • Research and develop new fabrics, washes, trims and finishes that are within our cost constraints and elevate the brand
  • Adhere to design calendar;
  • Shop international and domestic market for seasonal research.
Qualifications:
  • DEC or Bachelor Degree in Fashion Design;
  • Minimum 7 years experience design experience;
  • Detailed oriented, self‑motivated;
  • Good Microsoft office (Excel, Outlook, Word) skills;
  • Strong color sense;
  • Excellent knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop;
  • Bilingual (English and French);
  • Sound judgement and a good understanding of trends and the fashion apparel industry.
