Position Conditions: This full‑time permanent position of 36.25 hours per week will be offered in accordance with conditions identified in the Collective Agreement between the City of Brandon and CUPE Local 69. First consideration will be given to current City of Brandon CUPE employees. The City of Brandon reserves the right to underfill this position.

Rate of Pay: $39.94 - $41.96 (2025 Rates)

Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position serves as the City’s subject matter expert in grant strategy and coordination, managing the full life cycle of grant revenue development. The role focuses on identifying funding opportunities, guiding proposal development in collaboration with departments, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements. Acting as the primary liaison with funding agencies, this position provides strategic oversight and consistency across all grant activities to maximize value to the City, including delivering updates and recommendations to the leadership team.
Under the general direction of the Director of Finance, the Grant Specialist will manage and coordinate a portfolio of grant partnerships through the full grant cycle. The Grant Specialist will use their grant technical expertise and strong customer service approach to support the organization through the application process, assess project applications, support project monitoring, review reports and address requests for changes.
The Grant Specialist maintains a close liaison with the City Manager, Senior Leadership Team, and all departments. In addition, they maintain relationships with other government bodies, and regulators.
