Overview

CrowdStrike is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for our Policy Management team. This role drives the evolution of cloud-side software and user interfaces that provide configuration and settings information to the Falcon endpoint agent. The role is hands-on, technical, and focused on driving technical strategy and roadmap execution in a remote-first, high-trust environment. You will contribute to team growth through hiring, retention, and development.

We are a remote-first company and value collaboration across engineering, product, support, and other cross-functional teams worldwide. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

What You'll Do

This position will be responsible for managing a team of software engineers. This includes:

• Prioritizing work and managing team workload, project resourcing & coordination, including saying “no” or “not yet” when appropriate
• Keeping the team on track and adapting to surprises
• Detailed participation in code and design reviews, providing technical guidance and feedback
• Gathering and communicating status of team activities
• Communicating and coordinating with other teams, from individual contributors to executives
• Triaging customer support and user tickets and collaborating with those teams
• Collaborating with senior engineers and product management to shape roadmap and technical strategy
• Balancing immediate use cases with longer-term technical strategy
• Helping resolve interpersonal conflicts
• Coaching engineers and guiding career growth through frequent feedback
• Hiring, interviewing, and occasionally sourcing candidates

Engineering Managers at CrowdStrike are hands-on technical leaders. You should be able to understand the codebase and develop in-depth knowledge of system architecture, data flows, APIs, test processes, and dependencies to reason about the team’s work and assist in troubleshooting.

Some travel will be required, primarily to the United States, for in-person meetings. This will likely be 2–3 times per year.

What You'll Need

• Prior experience as a manager of software development teams, coupled with prior hands-on software development experience
• Comprehensive background in distributed systems development and scaling
• Experience building and shipping high-quality software in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Strong design and problem-solving skills with a passion for engineering excellence, quality, security, and performance
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal communication skills across engineering, product management, support, and sales engineering
• Demonstrated track record of mentoring and coaching engineers
• Experience working with remote teams while maintaining agility and velocity
• Ability to communicate clearly across the organization from executives to engineers
• Experience in microservice development using Golang, Java, C#, or similar technologies
• Ability to travel (primarily to the United States) 2–3x per year
• Humor and humility

Bonus Points

• Experience managing configuration automation for large fleets (e.g., Microsoft Configuration Manager, JAMF Pro, ChromeOS device management)
• Experience with building, operating, and scaling low-latency internet services
• Exposure to or experience in cybersecurity and intelligence
