A local staffing agency is seeking a Food Service Helper in Gagetown, NB for a temporary contract from January to March 2026. Responsibilities include assisting with meal preparation, cleaning, and ensuring health and safety standards in the kitchen. Work Schedule
  • Shift A: 05:30 am - 2 :00 pm
  • Shift B: 10:30 am - 7 :00 pm
  • Days of work: Thursdays to Mondays (i.e., Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday)
  • Days off: Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the food services team with meal preparation, serving and clean-up consistent with the duties of food service helpers/kitchen helpers.
  • Clear and clean tables/trays in the dining/serving area
  • Replenish condiments, utensils, napkins, supplies at tables and serving stations.
  • Wash, dry and store dishes, flatware, pots and pans; maintain cleanliness of kitchen and serving areas.
  • Assist in handling incoming supplies: unpack, store, rotate stock and ensure food safety standards are met.
  • Follow all health, safety and sanitation guidelines as per the food services operation.
Uniform & Appearance Requirements
  • Uniform: black top (short or long sleeves; tank-tops or hoodies not permitted) and black pants (leggings not permitted)
  • Non-slip shoes or boots required
  • Uniform must not be worn to or from work (i.e., change in at workplace and change out before leaving)
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance at all times
Qualifications & Requirements
  • English essential: must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal and basic written)
  • Must have cleared and confirmed CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre criminal record check)
  • Comfortable working early mornings (05:30), or during mid-morning to evening (10:30-19:00) shifts
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, carry trays/dishes and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous food service experience is an asset but not mandatory - typical duties align with food service helper/kitchen helper roles.
