A healthcare company specializing in workplace wellness is seeking a Field Level Ergonomic Coaching (FLEC) Coach to prevent workplace injuries at their Toronto locations. The FLEC Coach will provide real-time coaching and support to employees and supervisors, promote safe work practices, and deliver educational seminars. Strong communication and ergonomic knowledge are essential for this role. This position requires hands-on experience in dynamic environments. Competitive shifts will be offered.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of MSD injury mechanisms, body mechanics, and workplace ergonomics.
  • Experience in workplace injury prevention or return‑to‑work programming is preferred.

Job description

Job Title: Field Level Ergonomic Coaching (FLEC) Coach

Location: On-Site (GTA Toronto and Brampton)

Lifemark Workplace Health & Wellness is hiring a FLEC Coach to support proactive injury prevention efforts in industrial environments. The FLEC Coach will be embedded on-site, providing real‑time coaching, education, and support to reduce the risk of work‑related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs). The FLEC Coach collaborates directly with employees, supervisors, and safety teams to foster a prevention‑focused culture through real‑time observations, functional education, and data‑driven strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on‑site ergonomic observations and participate in physical job tasks to identify WMSD risk factors and implement risk mitigation strategies in real‑time.
  • Deliver daily on‑site engagement activities, including:
    • Morning huddles and toolbox talks – Guided strength and stretch routines
    • One‑on‑one and group ergonomic coaching – Shadowing during work duties
    • Conversations with staff and management regarding observed risks and prevention strategies
  • Provide job‑specific coaching during onboarding, task transfers, and equipment changes to promote optimal ergonomics and safe work practices.
  • Facilitate educational seminars tailored to the needs of the crew and site operations, covering topics such as:
    • Functional anatomy and safe body mechanics
    • Common work‑related injuries and their prevention
    • Ergonomic principles in daily tasks
    • Mental health awareness and coping strategies for shift work and stress
  • Support early intervention efforts and return‑to‑work coordination in collaboration with Lifemark rehabilitation providers.
  • Track and document all field interactions, educational activities, observed risk factors, and applied coaching techniques.
  • Contribute to sustainability of program initiatives by liaising with client management, Joint Health & Safety Committees, and MSD Committees.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly activity summaries to client supervisors and participate in quarterly and annual report development alongside the Lifemark Account Manager.
Qualifications
  • Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CSEP‑CEP) (preferred), Kinesiologist, Occupational Therapist, or Physical Therapist
  • Certification in Functional Abilities Evaluations (WorkWell or Matheson preferred)
  • Strong understanding of MSD injury mechanisms, body mechanics, and workplace ergonomics
  • Skilled communicator with confidence in presenting to both individuals and groups • Demonstrated ability to provide practical, hands‑on coaching in dynamic and physically demanding environments
  • Experience in workplace injury prevention, job coaching, or return‑to‑work programming is considered an asset
