Role: FP&A Manager – lead financial planning, analysis, and reporting for Alpaca’s API-driven trading brokerage. You will manage budgeting, forecasting, performance insights, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced fintech environment. This role reports to the Finance Director and supports financial forecasting, budgeting, monthly/quarterly closes, data analysis and growth modeling, and investor communications.

Responsibilities
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Maintain complex forecasting models and oversee the quarterly/annual budgeting process, incorporating metrics from API integrations, trading activities, and other indicators.
  • Financial Modelling: Build and update financial models to support scenario planning, cash flow forecasting, and investment evaluations for strategic planning.
  • Financial Closing: Assist with and lead monthly/quarterly financial closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely insights for management.
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly/quarterly internal and external reports, including investor communications and board materials.
  • Variance Analysis: Perform variance analysis on financials and key metrics using internal models and dashboards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with budgeting, resource allocation, and hiring processes across teams.
  • Ad-Hoc Projects: Handle special analyses, such as product profitability assessments or risk evaluations.
Qualifications
  • Must-Haves: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; 5+ years in finance with experience in financial modeling, forecasting/budgeting, and data analysis (fintech or brokerage space preferred); advanced skills in Excel, G-Suite, SQL, Python or similar; strong analytical abilities; excellent communication and collaboration; detail-oriented with ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote setting.
  • Nice-to-Haves: CFA, MBA or advanced finance certification; experience in fintech with revenues from trading platforms, subscriptions, and brokerage services; team leadership or cross-functional project management; knowledge of statistical/machine learning tools for forecasting; experience at both large companies and startups; passion for investing and financial markets.
