Job Overview

Full‑time (4 days per week). 12‑month contract with possibility of extension. Planned start date: 1 April 2026. Location: Carleton Place, ON or within UCSR / District 1 boundaries (area west to Napanee, north to Arnprior and east to the Ontario/Quebec border). Remote work outside this area may be considered.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), oversee all aspects of the District’s financial operations in accordance with the strategies, plans and policies approved by the Board of Directors.

Qualifications & Experience
  • A degree in Finance or Accounting (or equivalent).
  • 3‑5 years of experience in accounting and financial analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Zoom.
  • Expert knowledge and skill in QuickBooks Enterprise.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting.
  • Experience in submitting funding proposals, funding reporting and analysis.
  • Experience implementing financial policies and procedures for the organization to operate efficiently and as a means of minimizing risk and cost exposure.
  • Excellent organizational and problem‑solving skills; excellent attention to detail; strong, professional communication skills; ability to work independently and produce results.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the administrative and financial aspects of not‑for‑profit operations.
  • Expert knowledge of relevant financial legislation and regulatory financial processes.
  • Criminal Reference Check (completed within 1 month of application).
  • Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license.
  • Access to an automobile.
  • Language: English essential; bilingual an asset.
Rate of Pay & Vacation

Rate: $30.00 per hour (2025‑2026). Vacation: 2.4 weeks (12 days).

Working Conditions

30 hours per week during regular business hours Monday to Friday. Remote work office environment; occasional after‑hours work for meetings, training, club meetings and emergency response duties.

This remote position may change to an in‑office position at any point within District 1 / UCSR boundaries. Employees must work and live in Ontario within those boundaries. Funding to move into the work area to live or work will not be considered.

The employee must provide secure internet and a smart cell phone; public Wi‑Fi is not acceptable due to security considerations. A subsidy will be provided for internet and cell phone use.

UCSR will supply a computer, monitor, printer/scanner, video camera, headset, mouse and keyboard. The employee is responsible for providing any additional office equipment (desk, chair, etc.). No reimbursement for these expenses.

Meeting attendance in‑person or via virtual means is required.
